When I found out about this company, my first reaction was to look into the matter a little and to contact both of the involved parties, Marshall promptly replied to my notification mail, stating: "I share your concerns especially when the daemon is used for religious, pornographic, and other particularly inappropriate uses. The Naughty Vend folks have been using my BSD daemon for years and have ignored repeated requests from me to stop using it." This was a surprise to me, since I had not heard of the matter being publicly discussed, he went on to say, "I even investigated filing suit against them, but as a foreigner trying to do so in England is difficult, time consuming, and expensive. So, sad to say, at this point there is little I can do about it." Yes, perhaps there is little he can do, but the Internet is a big place, perhaps if the collective Net decided it wanted that company to understand how in the wrong it was, they could impress upon them their feelings with regards to what is and isn't fair use.
So, I am trying to start up a netjihad, a holy war to get back something of the Internet's, which has been stolen from them and used by disrespectful outsiders for their own profit, with no regard to what is right or wrong.
